I am out of the cone!

I endured three long weeks in the cone.  My foster mom told the vet staff that I was a real trooper and didn't seem to mind the cone, and then I was very well-behaved when my sutures were taken out.  My wound healed nicely, and I am doing fine. :)  Soon, it will be time for me to be spayed, and then I will be back in the cone again! My first blog post: I was mistreated :(

Just over a month ago, I was living in a home down south, and the man who was my former owner was not taking good care of me.  He was not feeding me, and not getting me the medical care I needed. Luckily, a member of the community came to his home, and she asked him if he would surrender me and the other dog in the house to her.  Thank goodness he agreed, and she rushed us to the ER vet.  Sadly, the other dog died.  Luckily, I survived, but I was in very rough shape, as you can see from the pictures above. I was so weak that I could not lift my head, and my eyes were very infected.  I needed a lot of medical care.  A wonderful person named Beth 💚 was my guardian angel, and she took wonderful care of me once I was well enough to leave the vet clinic.  And, in a short while, I was much better!  Look at my picture below! Beth reached out to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance to see if I could go into a BDRA foster home.  And BDRA had a foster home for me!  So Beth brought

My Ride to My BDRA Foster Home!

Here I am, on my way through Virginia to my Blind Dog Rescue foster home!  My foster mom sat in the back with me while my foster dad drove.  During the ride, I alternated between being curious and napping and eating treats. In the last couple of weeks, I had been taken from my former owner, spent some time at the ER Vet, then spent a few days in Georgia with Beth, and then came up to Virginia.  That is a lot of change for a small dog in a short period of time! I wasn't sure what was going on and what would happen next, but I knew my life was changing in wonderful ways!
